Well, I don't really have to go to work like everyone else b/c I am blessed enough to have a flexible schedule and am also able to work from home if I need to, but you get what I'm saying, right? I've been cooped up for months, and it feels absolutely amazeballs to be able to get out of bed and hop in the truck with my husband and go to our office and actually contribute my expertise to better ourselves and the family business.
A big shout out to Jenn at Peas & Crayons for hosting the What I Ate Wednesday party! Be sure to hop over to her blog and read up on what other bloggers like to eat 🙂
Yesterday was an absolutely gorgeous day, and I immediately woke up in a good mood because Lily kitty was so sweet and snuggly and loved all over us until we finally threw of the covers to go downstairs for breakfast.
Breakfast: ½ cup plain, non-fat Chobani Greek yogurt mixed with
pure vanilla extract, liquid stevia drops, chia seeds, flax seeds,
and topped with fresh blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries.
I also had one mug of espresso blend coffee with
1 nunatural stevia packet and two glasses of ice water.
Lunch: We took a walk down Main St. and had lunch at a gas station.
That's right! A bomb-ass gas station that serves sandwiches,
pizza, hot bar items, and build-your-own salads!
I had a salad with mixed greens, grilled chicken, carrots,
cucumber, green pepper, dried cranberries, and sliced almonds.
I then drizzled on half a packet of honey mustard dressing
and drank a can of diet coke and a bottle of water.
Oh! And I had a pack or two of Captain's wafers as well.
Appetizer: For supper, we went to a little pizza joint that's known for their wings.
I started my evening out with an ice cold corona and a pack
of Captain's wafers with beer cheese spread that tasted just
like those little handi snack thingys with the red spreader
that we all used to get in our lunch boxes when we were kids.
Salad: I had a Ceasar salad (minus the croutons & all but one
bite of the garlic bread) with the dressing served on the side.
Entree: 6 wings with BBQ sauce served on the side
(b/c the server forgot what flavor I ordered)
dipped in some yummy & chunky bleu cheese.
Sweet Treat: I then totally almost made it out the door without dessert
until my husband eyed the soft serve machine. He then asked how
much the cones were, and they were only $1!!!
Clearly, we couldn't resist. This soft serve was also swirled
with different flavors. I went with butterscotch & he got butter pecan.

Getting to know you...
Have you ever gotten a salad from a gas station?
What's your favorite domestic beer?
Could you resist a $1 cone of soft serve?

That ice cream looks heavenly! Although I don't typically eat at McDonalds, the one thing I do love there is a soft-serve cone. It's super cheap, and surprisingly low in calories! And sooo yummy! 🙂

That looks good! More resistible - McDonald's $1 cones, which I will get once or twice over the summer. Ikea also has $1 cones that are quite tasty but resistible. A swirled $1 cone though? Irresistible.

Amen to that!!! If it hadn't been swirled in butterscotch I could've easily walked away!
