Today’s post is going to be short and sweet…just like this daquiri!
This drank is sure to please all of the wussies in your gang who can’t handle Grand Marnier shots, dark beer, and/or grown up booze.
In reality though, I bet all of the dudes reading this post are secretly bookmarking this page so they can make it late on a Tuesday night when they are sure no one else is around.
Shoot, I bet the hubs is going to ask me to make him one tonight

I don’t think I have ever had a piece of pineapple upside down cake ever in my life. Is that weird?
BUT, I’ve had the pineapple upside down cake shots and martini’s (made with vanilla vodka, pineapple juice, grenadine, and garnished with a maraschino cherry) at least a hundred bajillion times.
This is better than those.
For starters, you’ll notice from the pictures that there are no maraschino cherries on, around, or anywhere near this drink.
That’s because there’s not.
I don’t believe in them.
And I don’t believe in grenadine either.
Ok, maybe sometimes I’ll use the perfect vampire blood looking syrup, but only when the hubs and I are playing Edward & Bella I’m in charge of the Halloween punch!
I am trying very hard to change my eating habits and stick to foods and ingredients that are as organic and natural as possible (booze doesn’t count, duh).
So, the “mix” for this daiquiri is not impregnated with high fructose corn syrup, artificial colors, or chemicals and preservatives we can’t pronounce.
No ma’am.
This is nothing but fruit, naturally sweetened soda water, and booze!
And, if you don’t have any frozen pineapple, just whip up a batch of my Pineapple and Creme Shaved Ice and use that instead!!!

Note: I freeze my own fruit, so I don’t know how this would work with canned fruit. If you try it, let me know please!
Getting to Know You…
What’s your favorite “froo-froo” drank?
Do you try to use natural ingredients?
Do you like maraschino cherries?

- 1 cup freshly frozen pineapple chunks
- 2 large fresh strawberries
- 2 splashes naturally sweetened pineapple-coconut or coconut sparkling water (Like La Croix)
- 2 handfuls crushed ice cubes
- 1 oz whipped cream vodka
- ½ oz pineapple rum
- Muddle (or mash) the strawberries and spoon into the bottom of a glass.
- Add the remainder of the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
- Carefully pour the pineapple mixture over the strawberries.
- Enjoy!

Is whipped vodka a flavor of vodka, type of vodka?
I appreciate you answering my question. I’m making this asap!
Yes, I’m sorry and thanks for pointing it out! It is whipped cream flavored vodka. There are all different kinds and you shouldn’t have a problem finding it.I used Burnetts and its cheap and good. If you can’t find it sub with vanilla flavored vodka or rum. Thanks again!
Oohh this drink is so pretty! I need to get more creative with my cocktails. This is beautiful and sounds so tasty!
Thank you so much, Bee!!! It’s easy to make too!
unreal. that looks divine!

I love pineapple upside down cake and though I often feature more classic cocktails on my Happy Hour Friday posts, summer allows for some fun and frou frou drinks for sure.
But had to mention…don’t give up on grenadine just yet. The word comes from the French word grenade which is a pomegranate; so grenadine is actually ‘supposed’ to be pomegranate syrup. You basically make a simple syrup using pomegranate juice and it’s SO much better. I also make my own ‘maraschino’ cherries. Fresh or canned cherries are steeped in Maraschino liqueur and voila…the best ever! Try it, you’ll like it!

I knew grenadine was “supposed” to be pomegranate syrup, but it’s very, very rare that you actually find pomegranate in the ingredient list! I actually ran across a bottle the other day that said “Made with real pomegranate juice” (or something of the like), but then the second ingredient was high fructose corn syrup. I’m trying really hard to steer clear of that junk too! I had no clue there was such a thing as Maraschino liqueur! If I ever have the chance to try (or make) maraschino cherries myself, I will *absolutely* do it! Sounds amazing and sooo much better than the candied full of artificial ingredients and dyes nastiness they put on the shelves these days! Thanks for your insight!
Looks amazing !! What is the cream in the center?
It’s just light cool whip! I put it in a plastic bag and squirted it on. B/c it’s light, it doesn’t hold it’s shape very well! :/
This looks so good! Thanks so much for sharing. Can’t wait to try it!
Yay! Let me know how you like it!
I can not have alcohol, is there an easy way to do the pineapple drink with out alcohol?
Of course you can! Just nix the alcohol, then add in some extra soda water &/or pineapple juice! Also, to get that cake like flavor you would get from the whipped cream vodka, you could either add in some real whipped cream, or just a touch of butter extract. Put a little of that in there, and you won’t miss the booze one bit!
Looks like a fun recipe. I just bought a bottle of coconut vodka for another recipe and would love to figure out a few more ways to use it. I think I’ll try your recipe with the coconut vodka, plain soda water, and a dash of real whipped cream. Yummm.
I think that would work brilliantly!!! Let me know how it turns out!
